FEATURED BEER: Harmon Point Defiance IPA

Our brewer’s version the India Pale Ale style of beer, it is the overall most popular of our 5 flagship ales at the Harmon. It is also the first beer brewed on the original equipment in august 1997. The recipe has evolved throughout the years, but has remained the same since 2006. Pt. Defiance is a medium to full bodied brew, copper colored and about 6% ABV. The pronounced malt backbone of this IPA makes it stand out from the typical NW IPA. Maris Otter, NW 2 row, German and Belgium barleys make up the grainbill. To achieve the 70 IBU’S we use Columbus and Centennial hops in the boil. The wonderful, distinctive “nose” is achieved by dry hopping with whole Amarillo flowers before packaging and serving. This is the brewer’s “favorite child”.
